Creating a Bootable USB
The first step in creating your CentOS Workstation is to create a Bootable USB of the CentOs ISO.
You will need a 16GB USB
Rufus
You will need to download a program called Rufus (v3.4)
This is the download page, https://rufus.ie/downloads/
You want to download version 3.4, currently, I have had some issues with the latest version of Rufus. However, if you download the latest, it may work fine for you. This is the nature of working in IT, things fail and work for no apparent reason, as an IT geek you just have to learn to try thing till they work, and along the way, you will gain knowledge and understanding.
CentOS 8
Now download the ISO for CentOS 8.
https://www.centos.org/download/ AND http://mirror.ancl.hawaii.edu/linux/centos/8.2.2004/isos/x86_64/
the file you want is:
CentOS-8.2.2004-x86_64-dvd1.iso 08-Jun-2020 22:11 8G
It is 8GB in, hence why you need a 16GB USB key to write it to.
